Hi! I am Karina
Thank you for clicking over here to find out a little bit more about me!
Serving my clients is what I love to do. Providing them with images that will be cherished for generations and making heirloom quality products available that they can display in their home and on their walls is a joy. There is nothing better than delivering a beautiful wall portrait to a client knowing that they will walk past it every day and remember a specific time in their life that was important to them.
Hiring a photographer to document a specific time in your families history, career or business can be daunting. Let my expertise, reputation, and attention to great service take the guesswork out of that decision.
If you have any questions or are thinking about hiring me for your next professional photo session, click on the "contact me" link above. I will get back to you as soon as I can.
I can't wait to meet you and become a part of your family's history.
Karina started her path in photography 16 years ago when her daughter was born. She started documenting her little princess's memories with so much passion. Then she used her photography skills while working as Head of Community and Public Relations for a Canadian Mining Company in South America for about 8 years ,until she moved to the US when she decided to take her photography passion to a professional level and focused on photography only. She started taking photography online and in person classes and workshops in NY, IN, FL and IL.
Karina graduated as Professional Photographer from New York Institute of Photography. She is currently working on her sub-specialty as " Professional Portrait Photographer". She really enjoys photographing people and their pets and creating unique portraits.
Her work has been published in the local newspaper ( The Southern Illinoisan) and local Magazine ( Life&Style) as well as private business magazines.
She has enjoyed photographing hundred of guests in different Galas and local events such as: Rotary Club of Carterville Gala, SIH Foundation Gala, Southern Illinois Wellness event, Girls World Expo event, Vintage Car Show in Carterville, The Dog Jog in Carterville, and she is already booked for a few more events coming up in 2019.
Thanks for reading this far and for trying to know me better!
Let me tell you a few facts about me!
1- I am addicted to coffee, anything that has coffee in it, just give it to me, por favor! When I travel to new places, I bring back local coffee as my personal souvenir.
2- I love to cook. I am always trying new recipes from all over the world and I collect cook books. If I could only eat one thing for the rest of my life, that would be rice! Do you like to cook? I would love to hear about your favorite food or recipe!
3- English is my second language. I was born and raised in Peru, so I speak Spanish too. My great grandfather was from Germany and my great grandmother was Peruvian, but I do not speak German, well I can say " Danke" :)
4 - I love listening to Spanish guitar music when I am editing photos, and salsa music when I am cooking! oh Yeah, salsa, sal-sa!
I love music from the 60's and 80's too. Actually, singing songs by The Beatles was part of my English classes at my American English School in Peru!
5 - I am a very artsy person since I was little, I have loved creating things from scratch. I have a workshop in my basement where I design props for newborn sessions, cake smashes and much more. I crochet, knit, sew, embroider and paint. Oil is my favorite medium. Hobby Lobby and Joann Fabrics are the places where you can find me sometimes. I have a side business and sell some of my designs online. I have custom made hundreds of items for customers in different states and countries, mostly Europe. I haven't been in Europe yet, but my creations already arrived to different countries in the Old Continent!
6 - I enjoy volunteering and giving back to my community, so sometimes , you will find me working and maintaining the public gardens of Carterville with passionate members from the Garden Club of Carterville, or you will find me volunteering somewhere in Southern Illinois with the members the Rotary Club of Carterville. These group of Rotarians are the most giving and loving people I ever met in the US!
YOUR MOMENTS MATTER. You will never get today back, so don't put it off any longer! I'd love for you to contact me with any questions you have, and lets book your next photo session!!!
I can't wait to meet you!
